MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte (PIA) -- "It is in knowledge that one will be successful,” Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) 8 Director German Palayab said during a Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony, recently, with the provincial government.

Director Palayab revealed that the secret of economic success is an education-related activity. “With the MOA signing between PRC and the province of Southern Leyte, economic activities in the province will improve,” he said.

The PRC 8 director agreed with the local government to establish a PRC satellite office at the provincial capitol to be manned by trained desk officer. “It will be open as soon as the office staff finishes the two-day training required by the commission."

Palayab said that this will boost not only the economy but educational tourism as well where students who will renew or apply for professional licenses will stay in the locality. He urged further, “to put up a review center so that students will be more convenient in their review course which can also definitely increase all economic activities within the province."

PRC 8 will bring their services closer to the people, particularly here in Southern Leyte, and further extend frontline services such as such as “one-stop-shop” to be set up by the local government unit in order to serve the public more efficiently.

Other PRC services include renewal of PRC Professional IDs, issuance of certifications, authentications, and accept applications for PRC licensure examinations.

The PRC installation in Southern Leyte is pursuant to Office Order issued by its Chairperson which directed PRC offices to intensify PRC’s campaign for the renewal of Professional IDs and the delivery of services to its clients, while achieving effective governance, timely delivery of services and strengthened institutional capacity of our local institutions by professionalizing the nation’s human resources.

The MOA signing was witnessed by provincial, key officials, the president of College of Maasin, media practitioners, among others.
